Blackfullness Wellness Platform

Blackfullness is a mobile wellness platform delivering culturally centered meditation, practices, and content through an easy-to-use app. NITM took over delivery from a prior team to stabilize the platform, refresh the product experience, and execute a successful relaunch in December 2025. The relaunch improved engagement and acquisition while restoring confidence with backers and enabling institution-tailored pilots with universities.

Challenge

Platform instability after team transition

The project was inherited from a previous team and required stabilization to ensure reliability, reduce delivery risk, and support a public-facing relaunch.

Relaunch required a refreshed, modernized experience

The product needed a design refresh to improve usability and credibility ahead of the December 2025 relaunch.

Anonymous user support with minimal/no PII

Institution configurations required anonymous usage patterns and minimal data collection to meet program requirements and privacy expectations.

Notifications needed to be robust and preference-driven

The platform required a notification system that could honor user-specific preferences and allow configuration to match program needs.

Backer and investor confidence needed to be rebuilt

The platform had to demonstrate execution discipline and operational readiness to renew stakeholder interest and support growth initiatives.

Result

Following stabilization and a product refresh, Blackfullness relaunched in December 2025 with measurable engagement and acquisition improvements. The improved platform posture helped renew interest from backers and investors and supported pilots with universities that required privacy-forward, configurable program delivery.

The platform supported tailored pilots with institutional stakeholders, enabled by privacy-forward configuration and program fit.

Qualitative

Implemented support for anonymous users with institution-configurable data collection to align with minimal/no PII requirements.

Process

We transitioned into the codebase, prioritized stability and relaunch-critical paths, and delivered incremental improvements with tight feedback loops against relaunch goals and institutional requirements. After the relaunch, we remained engaged as the core technical team to guide roadmap planning and support pilots.

01

Takeover, assessment, and risk triage

Inherited the platform from a prior team, assessed stability and relaunch risk, and identified the highest-impact remediation areas.

02

Stabilization and reliability hardening

Focused on platform stability and operational readiness to support a public relaunch and reduce downstream delivery risk.

03

Design refresh for relaunch

Refreshed the product experience to improve usability and ensure the app met expectations for a relaunch-ready mobile experience.

04

Privacy-first institution configuration

Implemented anonymous user support and institution-driven configuration to enable minimal/no PII collection where required.

05

Notification system implementation

Delivered a robust notification system that supported user preferences and configurable notification delivery rules.

06

Relaunch support and ongoing roadmap advisory

Supported the December 2025 relaunch and continued as the core technology and advisory partner to align roadmap work with mental health and spiritual wellbeing outcomes.

Solution

NITM assumed ownership of delivery, stabilized the existing platform, and refreshed the product experience to support a successful relaunch in December 2025. We implemented support for anonymous users with institution-driven configuration to minimize or eliminate PII collection where required. In parallel, we delivered a robust notification capability designed around user preferences and configurable delivery rules. Post-relaunch, we continued as the core technology and technical advisory team, aligning roadmap decisions to Blackfullness’s goal of improving mental health and spiritual wellbeing.
